Software Resources has an immediate job opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Designer – CAD with a major corporation in Glendale, CA.

Location:
Glendale local candidates only. Will be onsite 4 days per week Monday-Thursday and option to work Friday from home

Duration: 12 month(s)
Pay Rate: $45-$55/hr DOE

Must Haves:
1) 15 years of experience as a designer
2) Must have life safety industry experience (regulatory related environment such as aerospace, manufacturing, automotive, or amusement parks)
3) SolidWorks CAD tool – team uses SolidWorks version 2022

Description:
Participate in scope to conceive, design, & deliver a wide variety of complex & innovative ride systems and related equipment ensuring durability, reliability, and safety.
· "Clean sheet” concept design of entire ride systems and subsystems that meet creative intent and stakeholder requirements.
·Collaborate with key stakeholders to define system requirements and interface specifications.
·Coordinate daily activities of an engineering & design team through all phases of work, design, mockups, production, installation, testing, turnover and close-out efforts.

Basic Qualifications:
15 years relevant/hands-on experience·Sophisticated mechanical design knowledge ·Advanced engineering design expertise (eg. machine design, weldments, power train, materials)·Proficiency with design tools (eg. SolidWorks, Navisworks, AutoCAD, SketchUp, ANSYS, FEA, Matlab)·Knowledge of, and expertise with industry codes and standards·Superior design sensibilities and creative problem solving·Work collaboratively within a large and diverse team environment·Highly diligent, strong work ethic, with excellent time management skills.·Willingness to learn new things and continually improve capabilities/skills

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with life safety design/requirements
·Experience with prototype, development, and/or innovative products
·Ability to communicate complex technical concepts with non-technical audience
·Proactive/self-sufficient/able to work and contribute with minimal guidance
·Desire and ability to mentor others

Required Education:
AA degree or equivalent work experience
