Software Resources has an immediate, long term contract job opportunity for a Senior DevOps Architect with a major corporation in Lake Buena Vista, FL. This is a Hybrid role for Central Florida candidates.

Works within the Reference Architecture team responsible for planning, implementation, and end-to-end technical support of organization-wide shared tools. Also be proficient in both cloud native architecture as well as the operations of a VM environment. You will be working with Technical Architects and the day-to-day operations team creating solutions and solving problems to make it easier for other software and system engineers who are our customers to deliver great better software and experiences to our cast and guests. Many shared tools are vendor developed, so the ability to be able to troubleshoot and work within parameters outside of our control is paramount.

The primary responsibility of this role will be to engineer solutions as part of a new DevOps platform and assist with the migration off of the current CICD system. The intent is for a centralized platform with a flexible design to accommodate both end-users that are highly interested in DevOps and Build Engineering as well as those that are simply software engineers at heart. Effort will be focused on parallelization and how to improve security and quality of the artifacts that the platform produces while minimizing build times. All work is performed utilizing Infrastructure as Code, so competence in various languages will be needed. Some examples include systems management and automation through authoring and maintenance of Terraform, Python, Perl, Ruby, and shell scripting as well as experience implementing and utilizing enterprise configuration management solutions such as Chef or Ansible.
• Engineer a new CICD Platform with capabilities to support current and emerging technologies, increase efficiency, and enabling new business capabilities through flexibility without burdening sustainment
• Engage with our customers to ensure that the platform being designed fits their needs
• Leads in developing tools, automation, and scripts to facilitate platform maintenance, operational efficiency, reliability, and administration.
• Plans and executes platform-oriented projects that include business unit initiatives and updates to existing platforms as needed.
• Prioritizes and handles escalations from vendor migration teams.
• Identifies root causes of operational issues, resolves problems and/or recommends solutions for implementation by others.
• Works with business units to plan for new projects and events impacting the relevant platform, including capacity planning, monitoring, configuration, security, metrics, reporting and recovery, and migration strategies.
• Provides research, design, building, testing, and support to software platform(s), including support for multiple levels of testing prior to release of new and upgraded platform or infrastructure.
• Participates in the development of best practices, validation, and adherence.
• Develops and reviews architecture and infrastructure plans.
• Responsible for documentation, communication, and monitoring.
• Participates in the development of large technical solutions that meet specifications and that impact future developments.
• Recognized as a subject matter expert on at least one build and deploy technology
• Able to use scripts and tools built by others, including the ability to troubleshoot or debug issues with these tools.
• Able to evaluate new system and/or infrastructure solutions for technical feasibility against known requirements and standards.
• Effective at dealing with change: Able to transition in role or handle a significant modification to workflow or technology with minimal ramp-up time and with very little guidance.
• Comfortable presenting issues to management as well as peers, both written and verbally in a concise fashion.
• Able to receive feedback in a constructive manner and consistently apply it to tasks.
• Able to create system and production documentation, adhering to organization standards.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of progressively related experience in the Build Engineering and DevOps spaces
• Previous experience having worked on a large-scale CICD migration
• Knowledge of systems applications and hardware, server architecture, operating platforms, and internet and web applications.

In-depth experience with:
• AWS and it’s various products (EC2, ECS, ALB, NLB, S3, EBS, ECR, etc)
• Build Platforms (GitLab CI, Jenkins, AWS Code Build/Deploy, Azure DevOps)
• Container Technology (Docker, Kubernetes)

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with architecting a CICD platform for a major corporation
• ITIL V3 Foundations Certified
• Microsoft Azure or GCP Experience
• Tools and middleware including Chef, Terraform, Tomcat, Java, Node.js
• Project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
