The Indirect Tax group manages all sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, Canadian GST/HST and property taxes for The Company and affiliates. This generally encompasses approximately 530 returns on a average monthly basis for multiple legal entities. This group is responsible for implementing and maintaining several indirect tax systems with a heavy focus on system automation, data analytics and process improvement. The group is also responsible for managing all sales and use tax research and planning initatives, tax audits, overall business unit support and multiple special projects. The opportunity provides continuous growth for motivated tax professionals.

The Senior Analyst, Indirect Tax & Technology must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. This position will primarily support the Tax System and Integration efforts, such as SAP BRIM and working closely with the U.S. Indirect Tax group, Global Indirect Tax partners, Controllership and Finance, Financial Systems Team and Business Integrators
” Adhere to deadlines following project work plans, regularly monitor and communicate project status, solicit and share feedback from and by subject matter experts, and see projects through to completion
” Assist with implementation, maintenance and documentation of the indirect tax automation and reporting process (Vertex, SAP BRIM, IAP taxability set up)
” Prioritize and assist with documenting, sharing, and testing overlapping tax system requirements
” Demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively to solve complex problems within a team environment
” Communicate any issues with appropriate management team
” Identify potential process improvements and recommend implementation strategies
” Educate business area personnel on corrective procedures when identifying tax errors
” Support tax audit areas as required. Issues will be more complex
” Develop and demonstrate expertise in tax related software
” Special projects as assigned

Basic Qualifications:
  • Candidates that are bilingual in Spanish are needed for this role
  • Portuguese is also a plus.
  • 2-4 years, broad based accounting, finance and/or related tax experience
  • Technical Competence: Sales/use tax, gross receipts tax compliance and audit experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting and operating processes of business unit partner’s organizations
  • Customer service oriented and responsible to customer inquiries
  • Systems Competence: Experience working with SAP and/or Vertex (or other 3rd party tax automation systems
  • Strong organizational skills, effective time management and prioritization of tasks for self
  • Ability to support multiple on-going projects in a fast paced environment
  • Flexible mindset and willingness to embrace change and encourage team members to do the same
  • Completes complex tasks and projects requiring independent initiatives
  • Maintains communications with internal and external stakeholders and listens for understanding
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prefer candidates that are very analytical as this is a Forensic Accounting type role.
  • Experience working with SAP, XML, Vertex, and Alteryx or other ETL tools a plus.

Bachelors Degree in Accg, Finc, Econ or equiv
