Software Resources has a direct hire/perm. position for a REMOTE Hands-on Project Manager-Privacy in West Los Angeles. The successful candidate will help implement privacy products and processes into the company's environment.

Experience with privacy platforms like BigID, Spirion, OneTrust, Privaci.ai etc is highly preferred.

Primary Function:
The Privacy Project Manager (Technology & Business Process) will be an integral member of the privacy & technology teams. This role will assist in developing and executing plans to improve and automate the company's privacy operations. They will also be an essential resource in promoting and ensuring privacy and security by design and its compliance throughout the company's products and services teams.

The successful candidate will learn the company's environment then apply their knowledge to ensure privacy artifacts are in place as products/services are developed, evolve, and/or retire. They will also conduct privacy risk assessments as needed. The Privacy Manager (Technology & Business Process) will work with other internal teams, including Legal, Products, Security, and Technology, as well as third parties, engagement teams and occasionally clients and auditors.

To be successful in the role, the Privacy Manager (Technology & Business Process) must be able learn complex systems, identify, and articulate privacy concerns and create solutions, integrate, and evolve privacy throughout the company At times working in a business and systems analysis role, they must also excel at written and verbal communication and be thoughtful and measured in their approach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work with VP Privacy and team to identify, review, and manage implementation of technology tools to support privacy in business.
  • Work to align and advance Privacy by Design principles from initial stages of development and ensure that the data use meets established regulatory compliance needs.
  • Collaborate with product development teams creating new uses of data that employ privacy features to identify privacy concerns and create solutions.
  • Responsible for assisting with the management of the privacy, data protection, data usability, performance, and the integrity of the privacy solution for the company
  • Analyze, design and plan software enhancements for new data streams with a goal of developing technical solutions and systems to help mitigate privacy vulnerabilities and prevent potential future privacy risks.
  • Interface with other developers and architects in implementing big data solutions that enable the business to be data driven while protecting the data assets.
  • Interface with usability team to ensure user-facing privacy controls are usable.
  • Manage or work as a team member with others (from with internal privacy program managers, product development teams, legal, compliance, governance, and data protection teams to identify issues and create solutions.
  • Perform regular privacy assessments of operational processes, identifying, and mitigating risks across the company through effective tools, training, and guidance.

Supervision: Receives direction from the Vice President Privacy with regard to objectives and prioritization of projects. Will have a matrixed relationship to the other teams such as Security, Governance, and Legal.
for analyzing and determining data relationships, attributes, and data workflows. Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

Qualifications:
Highly desirable: Four-year bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical or relevant field

Experience:
  • 7+ years in a consulting, audit or product development environment or related experience
  • Prefer 4+ years of experience with privacy, data security, system development or technology projects
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize complex projects and work simultaneously across multiple projects.
  • Experience counseling clients around privacy, data security, or policy issues and managing multiple business priorities.
  • Technology privacy certification i.e. CIPT from IAPP or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with multiple business stakeholders, gather requirements, and generate action or project plans.
  • Experience or understanding of selecting and implementing software/platform.
Skills:
Knowledge of and/or solid working knowledge of these areas and skills is highly desirable:
  • Ability to understand broader business issues, must have a high degree of business acumen.
  • Privacy legislation and regulations, inclusive of GDPR
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written), ability to influence without authority.
  • Ability to balance risks in ambiguous and complex situations.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, in particular in leading or contributing to global and multi-functional teams.
  • Highly motivated to contribute and grow within a complex area of emerging importance.
  • Experience or understanding of software applications design tools and languages.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of software engineering fundamentals.
  • Data literacy: finding and managing data, cleansing data, manipulating data.
  • Analytical skills with an eye for detail
  • Nice to have: Experience with privacy platforms like BigID, Spirion, OneTrust, Privaci.ai etc.
