Software Resources has an immediate, long term contract job opportunity for a Lead Cloud Capacity Engineer.

Open to remote workers; however, if converted, worker would need to work on-site in Orlando (hybrid schedule)


Description :
The Capacity Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the service is functioning optimally by analyzing metrics, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions. This role provides expertise on Cloud architecture and engineering as well as on-call support for cloud-related incidents.

Responsibilities :
– Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to capacity, performance, and availability of cloud services
– Monitor and analyze performance data to identify trends and recommend solutions to improve capacity and performance
– Implement changes to improve service quality and capacity utilization
– Participating in postmortem analysis of outages or incidents
– Provide engineering expertise in order to meet customer’s capacity needs
– Work closely with engineering teams to implement capacity improvements
– Provide input into product roadmap decisions that impact the customer experience
– Documenting solution design decisions to provide rationale for decisions made during design, implementation, or management of cloud-based systems.
– Developing plans for capacity expansion based on utilization trends to meet future demand.

Basic Qualifications:
– Minimum of 5 years experience with AWS cloud architecture.
– 2-5 years experience with Azure cloud architecture
– Software Performance Optimization (memory, CPU, scaling, etc…)
– AWS EC2, ASG & ECS task autoscaling.
– AWS Cloudwatch metrics and dashboards.
– Virtual hosting technologies (e.g. VMWare, KVM).
– Data center, network, and application architectures.
– Containerization and Container PaaS offerings (e.g. Docker, ECS, Rancher, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
– Multiple scripting languages in your toolbox (e.g. Python, Powershell, GO, Ruby, or Swift).
– Some knowledge in system management languages (e.g. Chef, Terraform, Ansible) preferred.

Required Education:
Bachelors or Equiv. Exp.
