Software Resources has an immediate, long term contract job opportunity for a Remote Data Architect with a major corporation in Orlando, FL.

JOB SUMMARY:

Lead, participate in gathering business requirements, analysis of source systems, define underlying data sources and transformation requirements, design suitable data model, and develop metadata for the Data Warehouse/Analytical Reporting. Actively participates in setting the direction and strategy for data architecture. Develop and maintain an intimate understanding of business operations. Demonstrate sound business sense and ability to see "the big picture ". Assess and document the flow of data between system components. Able to develop, understand and interpret Entity-Relationship, logical and physical data models. Partner with the others to ensure effective data schemas. Document data management processes. Develop and ensure compliance with data modeling, data Integration, Business Intelligence, Data Quality standards, Master Data , managing the enterprise data model and managing all metadata in the current data warehouse environment . Able to cross train and mentor others to develop data analysis and data modeling skills. Facilitate and lead meetings and requirements gathering sessions with end users at all levels (VP, Director, Managers, and Subject Matter Experts). Keeps management, project managers, team members and business stakeholders informed of critical issues, project status, changes, etc. Able to embrace and adapt to change while demonstrating flexibility and the ability to develop and follow new processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Lead, participate in gathering business requirements, analysis of source systems, define underlying data sources and transformation requirements, design suitable data model, and develop metadata for the Data Warehouse/Analytical Reporting.
  • Develop Entity-Relationship / Dimensional Data Models for relevant projects
  • Document data management processes and mentor other IT staff to develop data analysis and data modeling skills
  • Develop and ensure compliance with data modeling, data Integration , Business Intelligence, Data Quality standards, Master Data , managing the enterprise data model and managing all metadata in the current data warehouse environment
  • 8+ years of demonstrated experience working as part of large Information Technology teams and/or consulting organizationsBroad experience with data requirements, data modeling concepts, data integration, master data management, metadata management, enterprise data warehousing (EDW) and business intelligence/analytics, tools, protocols and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high quality technical documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of systems development and project management Agile methodologies/processes.
  • Experience with one or more relational databases such as DB2, Teradata, SQL Server etc.and NOSQL databases
  • Familiarity with ETL/Data Quality tools such as IBM’s Data Stage/Quality Stage, Informatica Power Center etc.
  • Familiarity with reporting/ad-hoc analysis tools such as MicroStrategy, Cognos, Business Objects, Tableau etc.
  • Familiarity with customer identification and address standardization processes and tools such as Unica etc.
  • Experience with one or more data modeling tools such as Erwin, Embarcadaro etc.
  • Familiarity with one or more statistical modeling tools by SPSS or SAS etc.
  • Familiarity with Big Data concepts, tools, utilities, protocols, and practices
  • Familiarity with Cloud Computing architectures, protocols, and practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to make effective decisions while working through complex issues
  • Must be able to utilize and effectively communicate functional and technical components of an initiative to applicable parties both verbally and through documentation.
  • Attention to detail, good analytical and problem solving skills and critical thinking are essential.
  • In addition, being a self-starter/motivator and having a proactive, agile and strategic mindset are a must.
  • A plus includes previous experience with DBA activities including high performance physical database design & performance tuning.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree – Technical degree or highly relevant equivalent experience is required.

  • Work with architect peers to develop and leverage appropriate data/information architecture strategies that enable business goals.

  • Work effectively with Technology Operations/Infrastructure teams to ensure a seamless transition of the completed data architect solution to the final data platform for its continued operations and maintenance.

  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
